NARUC-NASEO Technical Foundations of Grid Resilience Cohort Session One: Climate Data Foundations for Energy System Modeling and Resilience Planning

April 10, 2026 | 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. ET | Open to Public Utility Commissions, State Energy Offices, and other relevant state agencies | Register Now

As weather and climate events increasingly affect grid reliability, regulators and state energy offices are being asked to evaluate analyses built on complex climate data. This session introduces a suite of Climate READi resources that help decision makers understand what climate data are available, how they should (and should not) be used for power system planning, and where important gaps remain. Participants will gain practical insight into interpreting climate data and modeling in utility filings, setting realistic expectations around uncertainty and extremes, and identifying priority areas for future data and research investments that support resilient, reliable energy systems.
