Consent-based data-sharing is a foundational service that utilities can provide customers and their third parties (e.g., retail suppliers, solar developers) to enable sharing of their interval energy data. This webinar will break down the process of consent-based data-sharing and systematically address the components of effective data-sharing, including the use of national data standards that embed privacy and security, and the plain-language enrollment requirements and easy customer interfaces utilities and regulators can implement. Implementers and policy experts involved in developing state and international data-sharing platforms will discuss the regulatory frameworks they operate under and the architectures being built. Discussions will contrast consent-based and non-consent-based use cases and suggest questions regulators may want to ask about cost recovery, usability, security, and privacy when reviewing proposals for energy data access.
Moderator: The Honorable Davante Lewis, Louisiana Public Service Commission.
