The Americas: OOCUR

Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators

Established in 2002, the Organization of Caribbean Utility Regulators (OOCUR) works to improve utility regulation, facilitate training and information sharing, and make other positive steps forward among its membership.

OOCUR’s membership includes regulators from Barbados, Belize, Trinidad & Tobago, the Bahamas, and other Caribbean nations and territories.

With the support of USAID, NARUC provided expert speakers to OOCUR’s annual conferences from 2003-2007 to offer insights on regulatory practices and emerging challenges. NARUC also worked with OOCUR to expand its use of corporate sponsorships to support conferences, seminars, and training programs, and to expand its web presence.
