Dates: July 8-10, 2014
Location: Mexico City, Mexico
With support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), the workshop on regulated tariffs involved the participation of NARUC experts from the Public Utility Commission of Texas (PUCT) working with commissioners and staff from the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). NARUC experts shared their experience and expertise in electricity sector issues with their CRE counterparts, especially in the areas of transmission policies, transmission cost methodology, ratemaking proceedings, assessment of transmission costs, determination of allowable and non-allowable costs, and incorporation of renewable energy into the power grid.
This workshop provided a stimulating forum for the Mexican and U.S. regulators to compare and contrast different experiences as they consider on-going adjustments to their own practices.
