With support from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), NARUC organized a workshop with the Mexican Energy Regulatory Commission (CRE). NARUC experts led the discussion on best practices and lessons learned on implementing clean energy certificates for Mexican officials, which included over 20 CRE representatives, two representatives from the independent system operator (CENACE), four from the Ministry of Energy (SENER), two from the Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources and two from the Mexican Stock Exchange.
To increase donor coordination, consultants supported by the German International Aid organization (GIZ) also attended the workshop and collaborated with CRE and NARUC to ensure continuity and greater project success. The NARUC experts shared their knowledge and the successes and failures of clean energy certificate models in the United States.
