Europe and Eurasia: Moldova

Partnership Launch with Iowa

Date: July 2002
Location: Chisinau, Moldova

With the support of the US Agency for International Development, NARUC facilitated the launch of a partnership between the Iowa Utilities Board (IUB) and the National Agency for Energy Regulation of Moldova (ANRE). The partnership aimed to create a framework through which ANRE would have broad access to US regulatory practices and benefit from the IUB's decades of experience while at the same time enabling US regulators to increase their understanding of the international regulatory environment.

During the activity, regulators from ANRE and the IUB delved into issues concerning commission organization and structure.
