Date: October 2004
Location: Skopje, Macedonia
With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a delegation from the Vermont Public Services Board met with their counterparts in Macedonia to discuss pricing, revenue adequacy, and tariff methodologies. Both Commissions also engaged in continued discussions about the topics that generated a lot of interest during the two previous activities: organizational systems for managing formal processes at the commission level, public outreach, education, and relations with the media, consumer groups and other stakeholders.
This activity was considered a success due to the information content and outstanding presentations from all participants. Both agencies exchanged relevant documents prior to the visit. Discussions often carried over into private conversations and the ERC delegates solicited much needed assistance from PSB in the areas of price setting and tariff methodologies. Both commissions continue to be highly motivated by their work with each other and are looking forward to exchanging more information and experience at their future meetings.
