Europe and Eurasia: Kosovo

Technical Exchange on Restructuring and Reform

Date: November 2009
Location: Prishtina, Kosovo

With the support of the US Agency for International Development, the exchange featured partners from Kosovo and Illinois meeting for in-depth discussions in parallel technical groups focusing on Pricing and Tariff Development; Consumer Best Services and Protections; Licensing and Monitoring; and Renewable Energy Resources and Procurement.

This structure allowed for peer-to-peer consultations, analyses of pertinent issues, and a more balanced and engaged dialogue. NARUC representatives also met with representatives of Kosovo’s KEK Electricity Distribution and Supply’s (KEDS) Regulatory Affairs Department, Consumer Care Department, and Dispatching Center, to gain a better understanding of the utility's restructuring process.
