Partnership Exchange on Market Regulation

Date: June 2009
Location: Chicago, Illinois; Washington, DC

With the support of the US Agency for International Development, regulators from Kosovo and Illinois held a productive exchange to further the partnership's goal of sharing best practices and knowledge in market regulation. Discussions between the partners focused on public participation and access, decision-making procedures, regulated activities and retail choice, and regulatory compliance in monitoring and licensing. Additionally, participants examined the price regulation process, demand-side management, generation siting and authorization procedures, power purchase agreements, regulatory treatment and permitting of the renewable energy sources, legal case management and energy procurement processes.
