Job Shadow on Ratemaking

Date: May 2015
Location: Lansing, Michigan

With the support of the US Agency for International Development, NARUC implemented a job shadow at the Michigan Public Service Commission for two staff within the Tariffs and Economic Analysis Department of the Georgia National Energy and Water Regulatory Commission. During the job shadow, GNERC staff learned to increase overall efficiencies and accuracy of the rate making processes in Georgia, improve the economic basis of tariffs and underlying analysis and bolster regulatory approaches and techniques used by GNERC to set tariffs and evaluate utilities’ investment plans.
