Europe and Eurasia: Bosnia and Herzegovina

Partnership Exchange on Renewables and Market Opening

Date: July 2015
Location: Sarajevo, BiH

With the support of the US Agency for International Development, BiH regulators during this exchange discussed regulatory roles in renewable energy integration, quality of supply and proper procedures for permitting RES projects, which came in light of BiH plans for aggressive deployment and integration of RES.

The exchange also served as a follow-on to previous work on retail market opening, as it fell after the scheduled January 2015 retail electricity market opening. BiH regulators sought to revisit relevant topics in light of what they observed in the retail electricity market in BiH.
