Europe and Eurasia: Albania

Exchange on Standardized Accounting

Dates: November 2004
Location: Tirana, Albania

Through support from the United States Agency for International Development, officials from the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission shared pertinent expertise with officials at the Albanian Electricity Regulator Authority (ERE) on standardized accounting, organizational systems for managing formal processes, duties and responsibilities of Commissioners and staff, and transparency.

Representatives noted that the intense information sharing during the activity proved fruitful in several areas and provided the groundwork for a future exchange on ratemaking.
