During this activity, sponsored by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), a delegation from the National Agency of the Kyrgyz Republic for Anti-monopoly Policy and Development of Competition (NAAPDC) met with their regulatory colleagues from the Washington Utility and Transportation Commission (WUTC) to discuss a variety of topics including a sound rate system, profit allocation mechanisms, independent power producers, siting issues and advances in technology.
The activity was technically very advanced and offered to the Kyrgyz agency numerous resources in creating desired regulatory outcomes, especially in the legal department. Both commissions hope to exchange more information and experience at future meetings.
