Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania
To support the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory (EWURA) regulatory capacity in regulating Tanzania’s nascent natural gas sector and to support Power Africa’s goal to support transparent natural resource management, NARUC organized a Technical Workshop on Natural Gas Regulation. Supported by the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), NARUC experts provided technical training on natural gas regulation, specifically licensing, safety codes, open access policies and the setting of natural gas transmission tariffs.
The workshop combined presentations with group exercises, which allowed the participants to think about implementation of lessons larned in the Tanzanian context. The workshop was designed to introduce EWURA and other relevant stakeholders to the fundamental aspects of regulating natural gas.
