Peer Review on Renewable Energy Feed-In Tariffs

Dates: August 18-20, 2014
Location: Dar es Salaam, Tanzania

With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), NARUC organized a peer review of the draft renewable energy feed-in tariff (REFIT) program with the Energy and Water Utilities Regulatory Authority (EWURA). The peer review complimented USAID’s technical assistance in helping Tanzanian officials draft the REFIT.

NARUC experts provided a line by line review of the draft REFIT Program and the method to calculate the REFIT price. The REFIT Program is meant to increase investment in renewable energy and the deployment of renewable resources, which is consistent with policy goals outlined by the Tanzanian Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
