Date: May 23-26, 2016
Location: Nairobi, Kenya
The first partnership exchange focused on the international good practices in the Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) review and approval process as it is relevant to Kenya’s context. Through interactive exercises, review of existing PPAs and targeted discussions, NARUC supported the Kenya Energy Regulatory Commission (ERC) in identifying good strategies to evaluate PPA components that mitigate risk and determine project bankability of renewable and traditional energy projects. The partnership exchange provided a platform for ERC to expand approaches to balance the needs of electricity consumers, utilities and businesses.
