With the support of the United States Agency for International Development (USAID), NARUC continued the regulatory partnership program between the Public Utilities Regulatory Commission of Ghana (PURC), Ministry of Energy of Ghana (MoE), Energy Commission of Ghana (EC) and Public Utilities Commission of Ohio (PUCO). During this activity they met to discuss issues pertaining to performance monitoring, data collection, and regional market monitoring.
This activity was unique in that it featured a transmission siting case study put together by PUCO. This was one of the first experiences the Ghanaian contention had had with transmission siting cases. Because this was the 7th exchange between Ghana and Ohio, it allowed all parties to delve deeper into issues and participate in candid dialogue about the various challenges facing each delegation.
