The Tanzanian government has advanced midstream and downstream natural gas activities by instituting key pipeline safety rules, in part through the assistance and support of USAID, Power Africa and NARUC.

Through the support of USAID and Power Africa, the energy regulator in Tanzania has taken a key step forward in creating rules to ensure the safe and reliable movement of natural gas around the country.
Thanks to the expertise and hard work of our members, NARUC is working around the world to improve the quality and effectiveness of energy regulation. With the support of the U.S. Agency for International Development and Power Africa, NARUC members recently supported efforts to help the country of Tanzania move toward a cleaner and more reliable electricity system through new rules for natural gas.
