NARUC Praises FCC Order Granting States Access to Communications Outage Data during Emergencies

The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners supports the decision by the Federal Communications Commission to adopt a second report and order that provide states access to the agency’s outage reporting data. This move helps NARUC members’ and other state officials’ emergency response efforts through accurate and timely communications outage and infrastructure status information via the FCC’s Network Outage Reporting System and Disaster Information Reporting System. Indiana Commissioner David Ober Named as Chair of the National Regulatory Research Institute Board of Directors

The National Regulatory Research Institute has elected Commissioner David Ober of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission as its Board of Directors chair. NRRI is the research arm for the National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners and its primary mission is to produce and disseminate relevant, applicable research for NARUC members. Ober replaces Rhode Island Commissioner Marion Gold, who has retired. Read more

Larry Mansueti Honored with the National Council on Electricity Policy Jan Brinch Award for Collaboration in the Public Interest

Sarah Freeman and Jeremy Tarr Named to Executive Committee

The National Council on Electricity Policy named Larry Mansueti as the recipient of the Jan Brinch Award for Collaboration in the Public Interest at the NCEP Annual Meeting. The award, initiated by NCEP in memory of Jeanette “Jan” Brinch, honors public servants who similarly view their positions as opportunities to bring people together to accomplish public interest goals in the electricity sector. New Research Paper Examines the Questions Underlying the Regulatory and Market Issues of the Texas Energy Crisis
