The NARUC Research Lab is offering attendees of NARUC’s upcoming Annual Meeting and Education Conference in Baltimore, Maryland, the chance to play our Excel-based utility business model game, MegaModel. The Lab developed this unique, interactive game to enable regulators, legislators, advocates, and other stakeholders to explore utility decision-making under performance-based and cost-of-service regulatory models. The game also looks at vertically integrated and restructured markets. Lab staff will give a brief introduction before participants take a test drive, guiding their own utilities through a ten-year performance period where they will have to balance customer bills, earnings per share, environmental performance, and reliability outcomes.
This demonstration is taking place on Tuesday, November 13, from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m., at the Baltimore Hilton, Keys 11 and 12. The session is free and open to all meeting attendees. Advanced registration is not required.
