Women Energy Leaders Highlighted in Special Collection Series
WASHINGTON—In recognition of International Women’s Day, the International Confederation of Energy Regulators Women in Energy group has published a collection of articles highlighting the accomplishments, challenges and value of women in various positions across the energy sector.
ICER published its first special collection of Women in Energy stories for the 2016 International Women's Day. This second collection, in 2018, features women in varied professional roles, including regulators and industry executives from many parts of the globe.
As ICER Chairman John Betkoski III noted in his foreword to the collection, “It is fitting that, at a moment when we come together as an international community to share ideas and challenges, we are mindful in noting and celebrating the important role women leaders are playing in our sector.”
“Our Women in Energy stories bring to life the faces behind the energy projects or companies that many of us might have heard about. Imagining the steps to becoming the company CEO or the regulator is no longer an abstract concept,” said ICER Women in Energy Chair Una Shortall.
The Women in Energy articles are also featured in the Chronicle, an ICER publication. The membership of ICER includes more than 200 regulatory authorities and spans six continents, including regional regulatory associations.
