New York PSC's Burman Appointed to NARUC Board of Directors

WASHINGTON—National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners President Robert F. Powelson has appointed New York Commissioner Diane X. Burman to the Board of Directors.

For NARUC, she serves as vice chair of the Committee on Gas and the Committee on Critical Infrastructure. Additionally, she serves on the Special Subcommittee on Pipeline Safety and in 2015 was appointed to the Gas Technology Institute Public Interest Advisory Committee and chairs the NARUC-Department of Energy Natural Gas Infrastructure Modernization Planning Initiative. She is also immediate past chair of the Mid-Atlantic Conference of Regulatory Utilities Commissioners Gas Committee and is a member of the 2018 World Gas Conference National Organizing Committee. Commissioner Burman also sits on the Advisory Board to the Financial Research Institute of the University of Missouri.

“It is a great honor and privilege to join the NARUC Board of Directors,” said Commissioner Burman. “NARUC has long been recognized as a national leader on important regulatory energy issues confronting our states and I look forward to participating collaboratively with the NARUC Board in this leadership role."

“Commissioner Burman makes an excellent addition to NARUC’s Board of Directors,” said President Powelson. “Her experience on multiple committees, coupled with the depth of her regulatory acumen, will make her an ideal fit.”

The Board is comprised of NARUC’s Executive Committee, past presidents, committee chairs, and several appointed members representing various regions of the United States.
