NARUC Statement on Nuclear Regulatory Commission Nominations

WASHINGTON—The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has issued the following statement following President Trump’s nomination of Annie Caputo and David Wright to the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission and re-nomination of Kristine Svinicki as chairman of the NRC:

“On behalf of NARUC and its members, I would like to congratulate Annie Caputo and David Wright on their nominations and Kristine Svinicki on her re-appointment as the chair of the U.S. Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Ensuring the safety and reliability of nuclear power plants and the proper disposal of nuclear waste are of paramount concern to NARUC and its members. We look forward to working with the new NRC members.”
