WASHINGTON (December 7, 2021) — The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners has issued the following statement in response to the confirmation of Federal Communications Commission Chairwoman Jessica Rosenworcel to another term:
“On behalf of NARUC, I am pleased to congratulate Chairwoman Rosenworcel on her confirmation,” said NARUC President Judith Williams Jagdmann of Virginia. “Our members are focused on ensuring that communities have access to reliable and affordable telecommunications service. We look forward to our continued discourse with the FCC on priority issues such as broadband connectivity, Lifeline and net neutrality.”
NARUC commissioners and staff serve on the FCC’s Universal Service Federal-State Joint Board on Universal Service, which addresses programs and policies that ensure that all Americans should have access to communications services.
NARUC is a non-profit organization founded in 1889 whose members include the governmental agencies that are engaged in the regulation of utilities and carriers in the fifty states, the District of Columbia, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. NARUC’s member agencies regulate telecommunications, energy, and water utilities.
