March 20-26, 2017 is Fix-A-Leak Week

WASHINGTON–The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners encourages all state commissions and partner organizations to recognize the week of March 20-26, 2017, as Fix-A-Leak Week.

In July 2008, NARUC joined the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency's WaterSense initiative to support this effort, which aims to promote water efficiency and conservation through joint activities with those that participate in the effort. This year marks the EPA WaterSense program’s ninth year of this initiative, which serves as an important reminder for all Americans to check their household fixtures and irrigation systems for leaks.

At the recent NARUC Winter Committee Meetings in Washington, D.C., NARUC passed a resolution urging all of its members to endorse this EPA initiative. A copy of the resolution is available at http://bit.ly/FixALeakResolution2017.

More information on Fix-A-Leak Week is available at the EPA WaterSense website at https://www3.epa.gov/watersense/our_water/fix_a_leak.html.
