Hannah joined NARUC in August 2019 and focuses on programs in Southeast Europe and the Black Sea region. Prior to joining NARUC, Hannah lived and studied in Saint Petersburg, Russia, where she completed a Master’s degree focused on the politics of the former Soviet Union. Her final dissertation dealt with Russian and Chinese soft power in Kazakhstan, and she conducted original field research in Nur-Sultan and Almaty in support of her analysis. Hannah also has professional experience in American domestic policy through her time working for a government relations firm in Washington. She holds a Bachelor’s degree in English Literature and Spanish from Texas A&M University, and a Master’s degree in Political Science from the Higher School of Economics – Saint Petersburg.
