Dig Safely! NARUC President Urges Consumers to Call 811

WASHINGTON—The National Association of Regulatory Utility Commissioners issued the following statement in recognition of April as National Safe Digging Month:

“We are pleased to join our colleagues today in recognizing April as National Safe Digging Month. As the weather gets warm and we spend more time outdoors, please remember to call 811 before doing any digging in your yard. Doing so can prevent serious accidents that can result in disruption of utility service or serious injury. Please take the time and make this important phone call. Safe digging not only keeps your yard looking great, it also protects you, your property, and your neighborhood.”
--NARUC President David Wright of South Carolina
