17th Annual Advanced Regulatory Studies Program: Ratemaking, Accounting, and Economics

October 1 - October 5, 2012
East Lansing, MI

The IPU Advanced Regulatory Studies Program is a series of specialized half-day and all-day workshops designed to provide public- and private-sector regulatory professionals a unique opportunity to interact and exchange ideas on advanced technical, methodological, and policy issues. Each workshop provides a unique and intensive immersion experience, emphasizing both discipline-based and sector-specific learning opportunities, interactive instruction and peer-to-peer dialog, advanced analytical methodologies, and theoretical rigor coupled with practical hands-on problems and exercises. The program faculty includes nationally known experts that draw from both academic and applied perspectives. A synthesizing theme underlying the program is the complex integration of markets and regulation. The Advanced Program reflects our commitment to provide an objective, reasoned, and empirical approach to structural and regulatory change. The program offers flexible tracks focusing on regulation and ratemaking, accounting and finance, engineering and economics, and water. Half-day sessions allow participants to fully customize the program to their interests. IPU also will offer two unique orientation workshops titled, Fundamentals of Regulation, and Fundamentals of the Power Grid taught on the Sunday preceding the Advanced Program for an additional fee.
